Antique Appraisal Day, May 4 at the A.J. Eaton Museum Carriage House Patio, 10 a.m. - 4 p.m.   

Daniel Geary, from Eaton’s Lone Tree Antiques and Fine Art Gallery, on First Street, has again agreed to provide his appraisal services to the A.J. Eaton Museum and Eaton Area Historical Society on May 4.  Come and bring your antiques to be appraised as we host our 2nd Antique Appraisal Day on May 4 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Geary has 32 years of experience working with historical American antiques and fine art, has three academic degrees, and is a well-known appraiser, dealer, and collector in the Northern Colorado area. 

To schedule your appointment at the AJ Eaton Historic Carriage House,  please call or text 515-370-0895 to reserve your 20-minute appointment time (leave a message). Participants are welcome to bring 1-3 items at $10 per item (cash or check). Walk-ins are welcome but not guaranteed availability.  

Suggested items to be appraised include:

  • Native American: Baskets, Pottery, Weavings, Beadwork, Turquoise Jewelry, Paintings 

  • Antique Cowboy: Saddles, Spurs, Bridles, Chaps, Buckles, Hats, Boots, & Rodeo Memorabilia; Prints; Toys, Antique Clothing, Postcards, Civil War, Indian Wars, Weapons, Guitars, and Other Musical Instruments, Historical Photographs, Books, Advertising, Eaton Historical items, sterling, coins, gold, pocket & wrist watches. Geary suggests bringing photos of large furniture or bulky items. 

  • Please do not bring:  Non-Sterling/Plated Flatware or Tea Sets, Asian Pieces, Beanie Babies, Magazines, Post 1920 Newspapers

May 25: Memorial Day Weekend Military Display! 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. - Eaton Carriage House Museum.  Enjoy the updated military display created by the Norman Hutchinson American Legion Post #26 Auxiliary. This could be the highlight of your Memorial Day Weekend. Carriage House is located behind the A.J. Eaton Museum at 207 Elm Ave. Eaton, CO.  (North of the Eaton Post Office.)  
Museum Hours: Saturdays 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. and Tuesdays and Thursdays 2 - 4 p.m.
